Embercrown Saga

Embercrown Saga is the kind of RPG I expected to bounce off and instead sank sixty hours into. You build a party, choose dialogue that actually changes who joins you, and fight through turn-based battles that reward planning over spamming your strongest skill. The story about a fractured kingdom is told with enough restraint that the twists land.

The progression loop is the best part. Every level-up gives you a meaningful decision, and gear is crafted rather than pulled from a slot machine of loot. Auto-battle exists for the easy fights, but the boss encounters demand your full attention and a good build.

The only friction is that the early chapters move slowly. Push past the first two hours and it opens into one of the richest RPGs on mobile right now.
